Gina

Gina K Walejko currently pursues a Ph.D. in Media, Technology and Society at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Her research focuses primarily on the transition to digital technologies by various populations and organizations. She is particularly interested in how publishers and journalists navigate this change as well as its implications in the creative realm.

Gina also does research at Prof. Eszter Hargittai's Web Use Project. There she studies how various people use new media, including how college students use the Web.

Gina's scholarly interests include the transition to digital communication, communication technology use amongst teenagers and scientists as well as science and health communication.

A true cheesehead, Gina received her B.S. at the University of Wisconsin in Communication Arts and Environmental Studies. She continued at Wisconsin, receiving a double M.S. in Life Science Communications and Environmental Studies. While at the University of Wisconsin, Gina held several positions including science writer for Earthwatch Radio and museum exhibit prototype designer.
