Radio

During graduate school at the University of Wisconsin, Gina wrote for Earthwatch Radio, a two-minute feature program on science and the environment. For links to scripts, visit Earthwatch Radio.

At Madison, Gina was also involved with Madison's student radio station, 91.7, WSUM. There Gina co-produced and co-hosted a show entitled The Wisconsin Idea. The show was devoted to scientists, researchers and academic staff whose research directly benefited Wisconsin residents.

Museum Exhibit Design

In September of 2004 Gina began a paid research assistantship sponsored by the University of Wisconsin's Materials Research Science and Engineering Center. Through a program called Internships in Public Science Education, Gina worked with a team to develop museum exhibits on nanotechnology. In 2005, the team finished building a museum exhibit prototype on force microscopy. Team members are working on a finished exhibit to be showcased at The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.

Website Design

In addition to this website, Gina has been designing for class, non-profits, and pleasure since 2001. She has taken many classes on design and web-specific design. She is familiar with FrontPage, Dreamweaver, XHTML and CSS.

Video and Film Production

Since 2000, Gina has been involved in video and film production. She is currently involved in a project creating short documentary films to educate childhood cancer patients, their families and doctors about fertility issues. She has taken numerous classes on editing, film, video, screenwriting and film theory. For her undergraduate honors project, Gina produced an educational video on Wisconsin agriculture. Locally Grown was accepted and shown at the 2003 Wisconsin Film Festival.
